Alexandros was lucky enough to have two windmills. They greet you standing on hills on both sides of the road as you drive into Alexandros from Lefkada Town.

The windmill by the Old Schoolhouse is the oldest built in 1868 and is the windmill of “Aridi”. The other up on the hill was built in 1892 and is the windmill of “Yiordamelis”.

The windmills are in ruins now. Do take care if you venture inside. There is a stone spiral staircase but the structure is crumbling.
