This website is created by Alexandros residents to let you into the secret of our beautiful peaceful village.
You will often see Alexandros referenced elsewhere as “abandoned”, which was almost true three decades ago. Many villagers had departed to Athens or Nikiana (down on the coast) when living here became hard. However this process has now reversed and many houses that were decayed have been restored. Lucky Alexandros has kept the charm of the old and been revived without destroying the old. Tell anyone that says Alexandros is “abandoned” that it now lives again.
The village was an important community on the island for centuries, staying distinctly rural and agrarian. It contains important religious centres. It is surrounded by mountains and forests, with track and pathways. Unspoilt unlike much else in this world.
Best way to contact us is on our Facebook group. We’d love to see you in our village at any time, or at one of our summer events.
