You may well meet our village pets. There are several cats and dogs that roam the village.
The cats are mostly semi-wild owned by the whole community. They are fed every evening in the Village Square. We neuter some to control the population but they mostly do their own thing. They perform the very important task of controlling rodents and snakes – which they are extremely good at. Be careful if you approach them – some like being stroked – others do not. One is called “Elvis” as he looks like Elvis Presley – see if you can spot him.
There are also dogs, two of which are often sleeping in the square ready to greet visitors. They are friendly and will wag their tails to greet you – but may bark if they feel like doing so.
One of the dogs is called Spriros (the short dog in the above picture). He is super friendly and often takes visitors for a walk. Note it is that way round – he takes you. This once got him into a real adventure when the walk took him all the way to Athens. Fortunately he tired of city life and returned to peaceful Alexandros. Sensible dog.
